Holy Other - Held (2012) (320) Debut album from Holy Other. Unlike his other release on Tri-Angle, Held is a lot less melodic and relies on ambiance more than anything else. The same haunting elements from before are still here and are more fine tuned for a bone-chilling experience. A solid album, my complaint being the short runtime (slightly under 40 minutes long) and the fact that the title track (one of the best of the album) isn’t the last. Klaus - Tusk (2011) A definite sleeper hit that arrived last year on the legendary Belgian label R & S. A definite sleeper hit that arrived last year on the legendary Belgian label R & S. Selva Oscura - As Always

It’s no secret that I love music (I do run a music blog after all) but I seldom find a track that I just can’t stop stop listening to. Selva Oscura, a producer from Austin, Texas,  has created something I can only describe as musical crack. As Always is just… amazing. I’ve already listened to it well over 200 times since I first heard it yesterday. It’s from his EP AS/IS/WAS (which is available for free on his bandcamp) and I would tell you how great it is but, honestly, I haven’t even listened to it yet!

Howse - Lay Hollow (2012) The newest release from New York’s Tri Angle Records which comes to us from the Boston beat maker known as Howse. Lay Hollow, much like all of Howse’s other works, sounds like an lo-fi, downtempo, spiritual instrumental hip hop  adventure. There’s also various elements taken from genres like juke, jungle and harsh noise, y’know, for flavor. It’s real good stuff, I give it 9 sp00ks out of 10. And just like every other Tri Angle release you can snatch up physical copies of the EP, which should be available in about two weeks.
