Midland & Pariah - SHEWORKS003 (2012) (320) Having experienced harsh techno sessions from Karenn and Sunil Sharp previously, Blawan & Pariah’s label unleashes a beast of a completely different caliber. In a style similar to that of Boddiak & Joy O’s Sunklo imprint, Aus Music’s Midland teams up with Pariah to create some well crafted house. Strange thing is though, I’ve seen virtually no hype surrounding it despite it being released less than a week ago. How that’s supposed to be interpreted is up to you, but if you ask me I feel it most certainly needs some. Highly recommended! The Rift EP seems to be heavily influenced by both the UK Bass and Future Garage scenes giving the EP a somewhat melancholic feel. I’m unsure when Pariah’s new LP will arrive but for now brace yourself with this trio of moody electronic pieces.
